Sausage and Apple Stuffing |

10 slices bread
8 precooked breakfast sausages
2 Granny Smith apples
2 small yellow onions
1/2 cup celery
1/4 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
water or chicken broth
Cut bread into cubes, put in single layer on cookie sheet and cook at 250 degrees for ten minutes or so until dried but not browned. Put in mixing bowl.
Slice breakfast sausages into bowl. Peel and core apples, slice into bowl. Peel and chop onion, thinly slice celery, add to bowl with the spices.
Mix lightly by hand, adding 1/2 cup of more liquid to make a moist mixture.
Loosely stuff a small turkey or put in a greased casserole dish, cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, removing foil for the last five minutes to brown.
